How the colours you choose can impact your wellbeing

The Psychology of Colours

To design a home that has subtle impact on your wellbeing, stay away from grey and beige. Neutral colours have a neutral impact.

Instead, try choosing colours, based how they make you feel. Whether you paint the walls bold, or just add accents, in your preferred colours, notice how your choices affect you from day-to-day.

Red: is a grounding colour that creates a feeling of home, with positive upbeat energy. Think of brick red walls and accents. It is a good choice for exterior or living areas.

Orange: is an active colour that can help to inspire our overall wellness. Medium wood tones and terracotta tiles are traditional choices, ideal in kitchens and dining areas.

Yellow: a cheerful colour, if you would like to feel more optimism, and inviting to guests. It can be used to brighten entrances, hallways and other main areas. Gold tones also tend to inspire our feeling of abundance and prosperity.

Green: the true color of love, which helps to improve our connections and relationships. Sage is a pleasant and popular tone that can be used in the primary bedroom suite.

Blue: is a colour that provides a sense of security and is a great choice for a work space or office, as it inspires higher level thinking. As the primary colour of our planet, it can provide us with global perspective and feeling of unity.

Purple: is soothing and calm and lavender themes are a good choice for spa themed areas or studios used for meditation and yoga.

Pink: a great choice if you want to feel more romantic or feminine as you get dressed and ready, at the beginning or end of the day.
